The descent I think is fine to be started whenever, same with the avaar one, but I found they’re higher leveled areas for when you can’t level up as much with the base game. Technically, you can charge into multiplayer solo, but it won't go very well since the difficulty never scales down from a 4 player team. I've tried, it just frustrated me to a point I stopped playing MP. You don't even get AI to fill in, that only happens in the "proving grounds" which is like a tutorial of sorts so real missions When focusing on the main objectives, Dragon Age: Inquisition is about 47 Hours in length.
